More Description About The Chinese Schwarzman Scholars Scholarship
Schwarzman Scholars will be the single largest charitable undertaking ever made in China by mostly foreign contributors with a $350 million endowment. Schwarzman Scholars are exceptional students who have been awarded a generous scholarship.
The Rhodes Scholarship, established in 1902 to advance intercultural understanding and peace, served as an inspiration for the Schwarzman Scholarship, which was created to address the problems of the twenty-first century and beyond. Stephen A. Schwarzman, a co-founder of Blackstone, gave the program a $100 million personal donation and is currently leading an effort to raise $350 million more from private sources to endow it permanently. Up to 200 scholars per year from the United States, China, and other countries will be supported by the $450 million endowment for a one-year Master’s degree program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, one of China’s most esteemed institutions and a crucial hub for the nation’s scientific and technological research. Students selected for this incredibly competitive program will reside in Beijing for a year of study, cultural immersion, going to lectures, traveling, and getting to know China better.
